We had a visitor who tried to use the entry gate's phone system to notify us he was at the gate and to have us remotely open the gate. We knew who the visitor was, as he had called us when he was about 5 minutes away from The Springs. When he selected our name on the entrance keypad, our phone rang, but all we received was a loud and constant buzzing sound. We pushed the gate opening code, and he was able to enter.
We subsequently sent a gate problem report to our HOA Management's Gate Department in the evening on April 9th, and on April 10th, we received (1) an e-mail from the Gate Department that stated a repairman was being dispatched to fix the entry keypad's phone problem, and (2) at about 10am on April 10th, we received a call from the entry box from the gate maintenance company contracted by our HOA (Quality Access), who was using the box to verify that we could receive and understand him. The voice was of good quality, and he related that he had found that the entry keypad's microphone had shorted out. The problem is now a non-problem.
Should any other Springs resident experience a problem with our entry/exit gate system, our very responsive Management Company and gate maintenance contractor can usually fix the problem either immediately (by remotely accessing the electronics of our gate system) or within a day or two. You can contact our Management Company's Gate Department at 829-7202 (ask for the Gate Department) or via that Department's webpage, http://ams04.homestead.com/gates.html.
